Job Description
Under the broad direction of the vice president for information technology and CIO and reporting to the associate vice president for IT governance, planning, and strategy, the enterprise architect works to enable university and IT leaders to make investment decisions that balance and prioritize current operational demands, disruptions, and opportunities with the longer-term strategic vision of the division, in alignment with the institutional strategic plan.
The enterprise architect provides technology guidance, road maps, principles, standards, and best practices. Work includes collaboration within and outside of Virginia Tech’s Division of IT to understand requirements for functional capabilities, how those requirements are served by IT services and infrastructure and how support for those capabilities is supported by the IT strategic roadmap.
